A House committee passed legislation today that would legalize some Internet gambling, allowing U.S. residents to place online bets with companies licensed by the Treasury Department. I bet they cant wait! And of course The Treasury will TAX us now!
The measure, sponsored by Representative Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, would remove a law designed to block these type of wagers. That four-year-old law, which took effect in June, and was slipped into the "ports bill" bars banks from processing payments to offshore gambling websites. All in all im just hoping that Party Poker comes back to the US!
